Here is a listing of non traditional credit sources in order of
importance:
• Housing or rent, including all utility payments.
• Installment debts.
• Revolving debts.
Please document a twelve month payment history of as many of the
following items as possible:
• Rent history
• Telephone service
• Cable service
• Gas
• Electric
• Water/sewer
• Trash
• Internet service
• Cell phone
• Medical insurance payments
• Auto insurance payments
• Life insurance payments
• Renters insurance payments
• Child care provider payments
• School tuition
A payment history will include copies of canceled checks, receipts
or direct verification of a timely payment history from the service
provider.
Conventional guidelines require twelve months of canceled checks
proving timely payment history for housing and three other sources
from the list above.
FHA guidelines look for any non traditional sources from the list
above but will not deny the loan for lack of credit.
